Biography
Byeong Soo Kim is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Artificial Intelligence at Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech). He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, South Korea, in 2010, 2012, and 2018, respectively. Before joining SeoulTech in 2022, he worked as a Staff Engineer at Samsung Electronics from 2018 to 2020 and subsequently served as an Assistant Professor in the School of Software Convergence at Myongji University from 2020 to 2022.
His research interests include digital twins, modeling and simulation of discrete-event systems, artificial intelligence and deep learning, AI–simulation integration, physical AI, and intelligent manufacturing systems. His current research focuses particularly on developing intelligent digital twin and simulation technologies that enable model generation, prediction, optimization, and autonomous decision-making for complex physical and manufacturing systems.
